Some of you have followed the growth of our Italy Mission since Monika
and Domenico married in August 2007 and Monika moved to Italy in the
Fall of that year. Indeed, it was your wedding gifts that made our
first work possible!
Others, perhaps through the Knights of
Columbus or the Italian Catholic
Federation, have recently learned of this unique Catholic pro-life
Mission, which we undertake, together with our Italian
collaborators, in the spirit of
the New Evangelization called for by Blessed John Paul II and Pope
Benedict XVI. We are especially grateful to count among our major
supporters Knights of Columbus Councils in Northern and Southern
California: Council 6043 (Pleasanton) and Council 5300 (Goleta Valley).
You may be of Italian heritage and are pained to
learn that marriage, traditional family life and practice of the Christian faith are quickly dying
out in this, Europe's most rapidly aging nation, where single child families have become the norm.
Perhaps you simply have a strong pro-life commitment, or a heart for proclaiming in a non-traditional, "post-Christian" missionary context the Good News of
God's Mercy and the life-transforming power of an encounter with Jesus.
And some of you have personally benefitted from Rachel's Vineyard,
having found there your
own deep healing after the experience of abortion. In learning
how unique the Church's post-abortion healing ministries
are to the United
States, you discovered a desire to offer women and men in a
post-abortion Mission country the opportunity
to experience a healing similar to that which has transformed your
life.
Whatever has led to you to this Italy Mission, know that we are
grateful for your interest in our apostolate. We hope you will
become a fellow gardener in this Vineyard, whether through prayer,
financial support or telling others about our work.
